Therapeutics with Yoga (23 April 2016)

THERAPEUTICS WITH YOGA

YogaTime is proud to bring you Therapeutics with Yoga, a two-part workshop which focuses on healing modalities with yoga, as part of our Holistic Sessions. This workshop can be attended in it’s individual parts or in both parts as a full session.

————————–————————–————————–———————–

Part 1: 23 April 2016, 11:30am to 2:00pm
Topic : Exploring Therapeutic Bodywork

Learn mindful hands-on therapeutics and yoga massage techniques to release tension on troubled areas of the body, such as the back, neck and shoulders. Harness the power of touch to provide healing and relaxation. In this bliss-filled session, we will explore various forms of hands-on modalities from the ancient tradition of Thai Yoga Massage to the non-invasive approach of Cranial Sacral Therapy. This session will be infused with the wisdom of alignment as well as the understanding of energetic and structural patterns within the body. Using biomechanics coupled with mindfulness and loving kindness, this is a form of applied Yoga Therapy that enhances energy flow, increases joint mobility, releases muscle tension, and relaxes the mind.

Benefits:
1. Release and relax troubled areas in the body
2. Understanding the body better through sensitivity, awareness and the power of touch

Part 2: 23 April 2016, 3:30pm to 6:00pm
Topic: Somatic Yoga: Rediscovering our Neural Pathways

Explore the mind-body connection through a slow, sweet flow of therapeutic movements coupled with visualisations to find balance and ease. We will begin with a drawing into the deeper layers of awareness in the body through somatic movements, slowly moving into a fluid integration of strengthening poses. The session will end on a restorative Yin note to reap the benefits of this subtle yet profound practice.

Benefits:
1. Learning to build a mind-body connection on a deeper level through subtle but dynamic movement in the inner body.
2. Release tension in the body and mind.
3. Deep awareness and powerful release through mind body connection, with an inward focus as opposed to just the physical body
